Hidden implications are present within the painting, they are meant to embed mystery and eeriness; proposing to the viewer that there is foreshadowing taking place. The darker tones along the edges illustrates us a vision that something wrong or even disastrous is evolving. We don't know what it is just yet but the stillness and serenity of the natural scene with calm peaceful sheep in the foreground is predominantly grasping our attention.
